CADE is offering a five-week online business planning workshop series beginning March 10, 2021. This program’s innovative design and content reflect the changing needs of farm and food entrepreneurs in a new era.
The curriculum consists of 12 lessons, grouped into four modules:
Introduction to Business Planning
Each week, participants will prepare a key component of their business plan, and will have the opportunity to share, learn from peers, and receive individual feedback and guidance from the course instructors. Upon completion of the series, all participants will have completed all of the key components of a business plan appropriate for their needs (e.g., to present to an investor, lender, or for internal benchmarking purposes.) In addition, participants will gain access to a network of peers, experts and local resources through their participation in the course.
The program uses a hybrid, or “flipped classroom”, curriculum model, in which participants will learn and work outside of class during the week on their own timetable using a structured curriculum of recorded videos, readings, and assignments, and then come together with the instructors in a weekly online class to connect and share with their peers, ask questions, and practice the application of what they have learned.
Recognizing the distinct challenges for entrepreneurs in this new era, and the specific interests of CADE’s audience, all content for the program is designed to encourage participants to understand, articulate and incorporate the values of sustainability, collaboration, inclusion, transparency and innovation in all aspects of their entrepreneurship planning.
