Condition & Current Use

Property is on a gentle slope facing west towards Cayuga.  The land has 20 acres of new apples and hazelnut trees with expected production starting in 2028.  The apple are a combination of cider and culinary apples, with the expectation of a on-site pick your own orchard.  

Soil Types

Upper land is silt loam (LbB, LbC and HuB3). The wooded area is silt loam (OaA).

Farm History & Past Use

The higher ground is primarily grassland that was historically used to graze sheep.  More recently it was used to make bales of hay.  The wooded area was once an orchard that no longer produces fruit.
