We want to give back to the community through promoting healthy farming practices and give farmers the opportunity to thrive. The land is protected under a nonprofit organization with long-term goals of helping the environment, community, and farmers, particularly those with limited access to land or financial capital. Recent soil tests confirm excellent growing conditions as per Cornell Cooperative Extension experts for wide variety of crops (see soil types listed). Current conditions allow for forage crops with opportunities and preference for vegetables, hops, vineyard, and other specialty crops.

Well water access. We are working with NYSEG to secure power. The property is also pretty flat and bordered by Mud Brook which has been used for irrigation in the past.

Additional Property Information

The farmer who most recently used the land was certified organic. They gave up their certification this season but continued to use organic practices. We require another farmer to use organic farming methods, preferably certified organic.
