Originally, the site of the Indian Ridge Grand House, it attracted travelers and tourists for refreshing summer stays in the mountains.  Self sufficient with local produce, milk, fresh eggs, and butter, guests were invited to all they could eat.  Situated at one of the highest points in Greene County, another attraction was outstanding mountain views.  It was utilized as sheep dairy for ten years with 80 head of sheep.
