Decker's Flats is a retail greenhouse operation comprised of two gothic style greenhouses and one hoop house totaling 6200 sq. ft. We are localated in the Town of Moriah NY. We produce bedding plants. We grow from Ageratum to Zinnias and Artichoke to Zuccini. We also offer a selection of perennial flowers, houseplants, cut Christmas trees, handmade wreaths and seasonal plants such as poinettias, easter plants and mums. Of these 85% arehome grown. In addition we offer various bags of organic compost/soils, organic fertilizers, organicand pest control products and varity of containers/pots.

We would like to sell the business and we would think about the selling our home but we would really love to stay. This is a turn-key operatiion with 32 years of viability. All supplies the growing year 2023 are on site or on order. We would love to give one year of our excprience/ mentoring to the new owners if wanted. The buildings are heated with propane furnaces. There is a 18' by 8' shed for soil storage with a 8' by 8' hard goods display room attatched. There are several other protected spaces for storage as well. 

Farmer Housing

We live in a 12 room home that shares the well, the generator and driveway with the business. Electricity comes from the grid with a 7K generator as backup. We have 24' by 24' building that is currently being used a short-term rental. (AirBnB listing) This can used as the owner's residence or income for the owner.

Applications Open for Dairy Funding Accelerator Program

The Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation (HVADC) has opened applications for its upcoming Northeast Dairy Funding Accelerator (DFA) program. The 20-month intensive training curriculum will combine virtual and in-person sessions, as well as group and personalized Business Technical Assistance (BTA) training to help each participant meet their individualized needs. Funding for the program is being provided by the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC). Applications are being accepted until December 1, 2023.
