We have 141 acres of beautiful land, a mixture of former orchards, meadows (filled with wild flowers and pollinators), wetlands and woodlands. The land was part of what was once a larger historic family farm important to the region. It once comprised of orchards and various animals and crops including soft fruits, vegetables and corn.
It hasn't been worked in 40+ years so requires care in restoring orchards. The land would qualify as organic though isn't yet certified.

My husband and I invested our savings into purchasing this beautiful property three years ago, to save it from development. Since I have watched it in all seasons and experienced the wonder of the abundance of plants, pollinators and wildlife.

Livestock/crops description :
I would like all agricultural management to be as sympathetic to the land and wildlife as possible. I am looking for a farmer/farmers to work collaboratively in an integrated system we can co-design and operate small business(s), including orchard restoration and replanting, woodland management, woodland herbs and products, natural bee keeping in meadows strengthened for wild and domestic pollinator forage, and animals and fowl for holistic land management (ideally for wool and eggs) but not meat.
Description of tenure options:
All options open for consideration though I would prefer a collaborative partnership with us and possibly other farmers bringing our strengths and skills together with on a common vision.
Preferences and restrictions on agricultural activities:
I would like to find a small heart filled farm team willing to work together (arrangements flexible), either as one business or collaboratively as separate entities, to restore an integrated ecological sanctuary farmscape.

The property is a truly hidden gem just 2 miles from Main Street, Poughkeepsie. There is a large open pole barn, built in the 1970s, utilities are not yet at the property but with the right partner(s) and plan, investments can be made.
Accommodation is not available on site but we are very close to development and housing stock, with good collaborative potential with neighboring properties and businesses close by. The approach for restoring the landscape is to strengthen and value what already exists rather than dominate the already abundant nature of the land.
