Description of the property’s current condition and current use(s):
This property is a closed motel from the 50's with open space for farming. It also used to be a farm, so there is a large farm house and a barn. Some buildings are usable for living. A former barn on the property includes a community kitchen and open space (see Maybrook Lodge Barn Rental with easy access to Rt 209) for more information on the barn and kitchen space.
The field was active last year, and we have leftover round hay bales, woodchips, and compost. In addition, some greenhouse frames, and window frames are available for temporary green houses. Also available is a lockable tool shed for hand tools.
The hindside of the property has access to a creek, and can also be used as camp sites for addional income.
Farm history / past uses of the property:
The property is known as Maybrook Lodge. It was perhaps left vacant for 10 years, and for the last two years, it was used as farmers' lodge for a nearby organic farm.
Last year, 0.5 acre of vegetables and flowers were farmed and and sold to a Staten Island community. Contact info of former farmers and customers info of customers may be obtained when requested.
