With 40 years of local organic produce farming experience — 32 years NOFA certified organic produce — Grindstone Farm, a well-known leader in organic produce for Syracuse, Watertown NY, CNY and Northern New York, has been farming high-quality organic fruits and vegetables, and we provide local delivery. We are growers and serve as a link between you and other organic farms to offer fresh, natural dairy, meats (pasture-raised organic and GMO-free), organic dried fruits, nuts, honey, maple syrup, juices, and a wide variety of pantry items. We provide home delivery, group site delivery, and on-farm pick-up all year round. We also host a local on-farm market each Friday weekly throughout the year.

Options are available, share cropping, leasing, purchase as well as other transactional opportunities.

Four tractors varying in horsepower from 100 to 25, all miscellaneous equipment accumulated over the past 40 years is available, including potato and specific small scale vegetable equipment.  Major vegetable production areas are covered by overhead and drip irrigation. One acre high tunnel, 6 bays 330 feet long available for intensive vegetable production. Walk in cooler, insulated and cooled storage trailers maintain crops post harvest.  Delivery vans, trucks and farm vehicles resident on property.

Fencing

A variety of livestock has been pasture-raised at Grindstone over the years—chickens, guinea keets, geese, pigs, turkeys—but in more recent years, we have focused on turkeys and pigs with appropriate fencing to protect from predators. 

Water Access

North branch of Grindstone Creek flows through the property. The farm is also home to a seven acre spring fed pond, the tributaries of which supply irrigation water for crops even during the driest years. We have solid set irrigation to cover approximately 12 acres.

Barns for Equipment/Storage

There are a number of small barns and structures on the property that serve tool and equipment storage, grading, packing, truck loading, produce sales and office.

Farmer Housing

A 14 x 65 mobile home with tip out on municipal water containing 3 bedrooms, 2 baths is available for the appropriate farm manager candidate. We also have a selection of campers/ off-grid housing available.
