Lansing, NY, Tompkins County
Open Tillable Acres
Wooded (or other) Acres
Condition & Current Use
This four acre apple orchard has been farmed organically for the past 14 years. It features a large variety of apple trees, more than half of which are antique varieties. The orchard is protected by a 6+ foot chain link fence.
Farm History & Past Use
The orchard has been under active management until this year, and was harvested for making cider. Regular pruning has been done (except this winter). There are 150 to 175 apples trees of all different varieties in good condition.
Owner is looking for someone to maintain the orchard (annual pruning, mowing, etc) and harvest the fruit (for use by the farmer). There is no cost for this, but the owner would like someone who can commitment to taking good care of this orchard for the long term (5+ years). The owner does not want to lease the land and would like to continue having access to the orchard for walking in and enjoying.
