Description of the property’s current condition and current use(s):
Rifton CSA Farm is activly seeking farmers to work cooperatively to create farm produce. The flowing projects are most appropriate; Planted Crops; Lavender, Vegetables, Flowers, Herbs. Mushrooms, Sprouts, Watercress, Water Bamboo. Hops, Industrial Hemp, Ginseng. Animals; Goats, Hogs, Sheep, Scottish Highland Cows. Horses. Fish. Rabbits. I would like to find someone interested in partnering for a Horse Boarding Stable. Initilly a 'lean-too' roof for outdoor boarding of those horses who dont keep in indoor stalls, later develop a 10 stall barn. I am currently in the process of creating 8 acres of pasture. An appropriate partner would be in charge of the care for the horses, and offer riding lessons to the public on my 120 acre property which would include trail riding on existing trails. Other farming ideas are welcome, call me to discuss: 917-301-6024 ask for Douglas The property also incorporates a swamp/pond area that I wish to explore for possible fish farming projects, and for Water Cress, Sprouts and Water Bamboo. A Mushroom Farmer should contact me for an interview and inspection of the property to create a mushroom farm. An important goal of the farm is to improve the quality of the land, and incorporate the farm through esethic cultivation and planning with regard to enhancement of the current beauty of its natural state. Ideally, the farm should be as a beautiful garden woven within a natural landscape that can be enjoyed both by the working farmers, and the public who might visit the farm as they would a park. It is also important for farmers to work together to use the land for its most appropriate productivity. The land has many features, and a variety of farming is possible. Call me to come visit and discuss how we can work together. I wish to invite new farmers to begin their farming project at Rifton CSA Farm. There is land available. There is no charge to farm the land, and I have a few pieces of equipment to share, and am on hand myself to help create your farming project. There is also oppertunity to market and sell your produce to the public when your crop or produce is ready.
