We have an established, profitable, turn key grass fed beef farm in Meredith, NY, Delaware County. In addition to the move-in restored historic farm house overlooking the one acre pond, and lovely views that are all belong to the farm, this opportunity is unique because 1--The farm is an easy to operate, turn-key rotational grazing system with highly productive land, and cattle with proven grass  fed genetics.  2--Our long term farm manager wants to stay on, and is independently managing  the cattle, grazing, equipment, and fencing. 3--The profitable, established Slope Farms marketing channel, which sells the farm’s finished grass fed beef to wholesale customers, will be available to new owners.  Located in Meridith NY in Delaware County.  We own 100 acres and have a long term lease on 80 nearby acres.  It's all fenced with internal paddocks and watering system for intensive rotational grazing. Our 120 cattle are mostly black Angus have proven grass fed genetics for a high end market. The farms soils were measured to have the highest carbon readings in the state in two years of NRCS study in NY State. Our focus has become more on policy, farming, and public health. Very interested in finding people that wants to continue the soils, the operation, and the livestock productive.

High tensile steel perimeter fence on 85 home and 80 leased pasture acres, with 2 hot strands. Internal fencing divides pasture into avg 3 acre paddocks with light steel electric with simple lane system with gates for rotation. 

Water access description:

Water system so there always short walk for cattle to fresh water 24 x 7 x 365. Summer: pvc pipe from well pumped to trough's with float valves plus runnoff from pond (365 d/year). Winter pond: frost free waterer, pond runoff, and springs, so there's frost free water always accessable.  One acre pond which is fenced out so cattle only have access to run off

Barns/structures description:

Large dairy barn from 1960's which we mostly use for winter run in for cattle and for storage. 

Farmer housing description:

1840's restored historic farmhouse in excellent condition. Upgraded kitchen, new heating and hot water system, insulation, recent roof. 3-4 BR and 1.5 baths. Overlooks one acre pond. Beautiful view, all of which belong to the farm. Easy access and complete privacy.

Current cattle census: all british breeds. Cow herd predominantly black Angus with some Herefords. Bull Angus. Proven grass fed genetics, from 15 year of selection for high quality finished beef on grass.  Cow-calf pairs #35 Yearlings   #35 finishers, 2 years old, #25, ready for market over next 6 monts. Land set up for rotational grazing of cattle. Highly productive soil and perennial pasture suitable for other livestock with appropriate fencing. The land is very fertile from years of summer grazing and winter bale grazing. Includes about 40 acres of mostly flat land that would be very suitable for cropping.
