Job Details :

** We would like you to be onsite and working by January 2021. If for any reason you are unable to be onsite, please be available by phone and video to assist with seed ordering, planning, etc. The sooner you can be here, the better.

Full Time, Year Round Position. Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 AM - 4:00 / 5:00 PM. We trust that you will get the work done and your schedule will reflect your responsibilities.

Onsite Housing Provided. There is a two bedroom / two bathroom home located adjacent to the gardens where you are welcome to live. We use the basement for microgreen production, cold storage, and market storage.

Compensation. We would like this to be an open discussion based on experience. We pay a living wage and provide a healthy atmosphere for our team.

Time Off + Holidays. We would like this to be an open discussion based on your commitments, needs, etc.

Additional :

The head of the garden lives onsite but travels between Catskill and NYC weekly to fulfill other work responsibilities. He checks in daily and you will communicate with him via phone, text, email, etc. The onsite team will support you and is capable of running the gardens without his presence.

This is a leadership position. We are a small but mighty team with every intention to grow. We support and push each other in all aspects of our daily work but it is also important that we are self motivated and able to work/solve problems independently. You will be responsible for constant team and task management.

Our market garden reference points are growers like Charles Dowding, Eliot Coleman, Jean Martin Fortier, Richard Perkins, Singing Frogs Farm, etc. Our guiding principle is the ecological harmony present in nature. While we recognize we are ‘constructing’ natural systems, diversity and resilience are our foundations.

If you have questions about any aspect of the position, please feel free to ask them once your application is received and we move to the interview process. We want the process to be transparent and the job description clear.
