Positions Hiring: Vegetable Farmer / Manager and/or Farm Workers

Pay: Hourly pay based on experience and role. Partnership and/or collaboration for the right candidate. 

About the position:

Ideally, we are looking for an entrepreneur who is an experienced vegetable farmer seeking to partner with a local organic farm via a collaboration effort. The possibilities are endless for the right person, including expansion or driving other ventures (be it - foraging, growing mushrooms, fermentation, cider making, growing specialty vegetables, medicinal herbs, etc).

We are also looking for farm workers and/or hands if your experience or desire doesn’t line up with a collab at this time.

The Farm raises top-quality organic produce from seed to harvest; we are dedicated to quality and providing an excellent product for our customers. We currently have a roughly quarter-acre garden plotted and can expand as needed. We have a large green house for seeding, as well as a high tunnel. In addition to the vegetable garden and the animals we raise, we also have an organic apple orchard (and other fruiting trees), specialty plant and herb gardens, mushroom logs, flower gardens and bee hives. 

Main Responsibilities

• • Manage garden and supervise farm helpers
  • Greenhouse watering and seeding, transplanting and crop maintenance
  • Pest and disease management
  • Garden design, planning, ordering and inventory management
  • Implement and maintain irrigation
  • Harvest vegetables according to farm’s needs
  • Operate and maintain farm equipment as needed
  • Monitor and maintain soil health and cover crops
  • Work closely with owner, chef(s) and farm manager

The job description covers key responsibilities but does not capture all job duties. We are primarily a restaurant and wedding venue, so workers must be keenly aware of optics (aesthetics), especially around our guests and on event days. We work as a team and there are times when we need all hands on deck to accomplish a task.
