SAF Produce, LLC operates a 3.25-acre GAP Certified greenhouse with over 125,000 SQFT of hydroponic growing space currently growing Industrial Hemp for CBD, little gem lettuces, leafy green produce. Our Industrial Hemp Growing License for CBD research and Industrial Hemp Processor License were both granted in March 2019.  We also have Nursery registration (extensive CBD seedling and clone business).  Additionally we have +2 acres.

      • Overhead sprinkler irrigation system (Three zones per Grow Pond).
      • Harvest and Packaging Equipment and Cleaning Equipment (Float - Board washer).
      • Juvenile plant seedling spray beam (2) with network-controlled irrigation
      • 300 Liter Empass spray tank on wheels with 325 lft hose.
      • The original ground water well is currently in use.  Note, a new ground water well and expansion tank was installed in 2018 (currently idle). 
    • Lighting:
      • ~1300 LED housing units (OREON), 150 umols, water cooled, heat exchanger control to exterior heat dispensing fan bank. Four Zones, Priva controlled, Quantum PAR (light) meter.
    • Control system:
      • PRIVA environmental control system Connext v907, (see control screen in Attachment B), includes:
        • 5 sensors per compartment,
        • Integrated heating, venting system,
        • Lighting control, air flow, water, humidity, CO2, etc… throughout facility,
        • Weather station.
    • Climate controlled Germination room – Mitsubishi split heating/cooling system
      • One room in Greenhouse; Second room in Head House.
  • Head House:
    • Metal Roof and sided building supported by wood truss framing, propane heated.
    • Grading Room area (130’x 53’by 12 ft hgt); one 9’x10’ Loading Dock Doors with leveling.
    • Walk-in Cooler (28’ x 50’ by 11’ 6” hgt) with two 9’x10’ Loading Dock Doors with leveling.
      • Eight (8) ceiling mounted condenser units (Trenton), 22,000 BTUh per unit capacity, 20 deg. F evaporation temp.
      • Three ingress/egress doors. (FASTrax track auto door, overhead garage door, manual swing door).
    • Peat block template table (5 total), to press peat seedling trays (i.e. 24 count boards).
    • Two bathrooms (a. two water closets & sink, b. one water closet & sink); two utility sinks.
    • (In-active) Cooling process equipment (expansion tanks, pumps, piping) in Compartment 1.

 

  • Electrical Shed (18’x20’, is connected to the Boiler House): 34,500volts to 480-volt, 3 phase, feeds 2500kva transformer connecting to main breakers in electrical shed.
    • Breaker Panel A&B main 1600 amps; generator breaker panel 3000 amp; Utilities main breaker panel 3000 amps.
      • Utility Panel feeds boiler room from there lines feed sub-panels in boiler room and compartments 1 and 2 in Greenhouse.
      • Compartment 1 sub panel feeds the sub-panels in the old pump room and all the processing line, water treatment equipment (fertilizers injectors, light cooling, and water silo pumps, and grading room, outside dry cool fans array next to the office trailers and the office trailers. It also powers the cooler.
      • Note electrical infrastructure includes (as installed) much of the CHP engine (not installed) electrical devices. 

 

  • Boiler house 42’x 63’ by 24 ft hgt;
    • (2015) F&H Crone boiler 10,800 KW (input gas Max), 725 kg/h (input Oil max or            192 gal/h), 480v/60hz, Gas 4 psi, Heating 369,000 BTU/hr.,
    • Trailer supplied Compressed Natural Gas (CNG skid/loading area).,
    • Hot Water radiant heat distribution piping though Greenhouse.

 

  • Exterior Water Tank ~760K gal.  (total system cap. ~1M gal). Nitrogen generation system for tank blanket.

 

  • CO2 System distribution throughout Greenhouse:
    • 30-ton liquid CO2 tank and refrigeration equipment.
    • Plastic tubing with diffuser spouts on length of ponds,
    • CO2 levels are controlled through a Priva environmental control system.

 

  • Spectrum 500MBS download-30MBS upload High Speed Network
  • Parking lot concrete/cinder is 100’x100’; Loading Dock Doors accessible 4 ft above FFL.

The Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation (HVADC) has opened applications for its upcoming Northeast Dairy Funding Accelerator (DFA) program. The 20-month intensive training curriculum will combine virtual and in-person sessions, as well as group and personalized Business Technical Assistance (BTA) training to help each participant meet their individualized needs. Funding for the program is being provided by the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC). Applications are being accepted until December 1, 2023.
