Condition & Current Use

The Weil Preserve is an 88-acre preserve owned by the North Salem Open Land Foundation (NSOLF).  Access onto the preserve is by invitation only for NSOLF programs and events.  The property is a combination of open pasture and wooded acreage. There are two houses on the property, one being NSOLF office and the other a caretakers house. The two fenced paddocks both have water with frost-free hydrants, as well as run-in sheds for livestock that are in good condition. The property is located off of Dingleridge Road in a very quiet, peaceful setting. The meadows/fields are currently being mowed for hay by a local farmer. This is a very farm friendly area of the county.

Soil Types

PnB, WdB, RgB in agriculture paddocks/meadows.

Farm History & Past Use

The property came to NSOLF as a donation in 2017. The houses were built between 1990- 2000, the property has been used for agriculture since prior to the 1930's. Predominately for dairy and as a horse farm. There are currently two donkeys on the property.
