Farming Status and Plans
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
We are a family that has been learning about growing our own food, raising animals and living a more sustainable lifestyle. We currently have a full garden of various fruits and vegetables as well as pigs, chickens, and a lamb.
Our planting practices are organic and non gmo based and we strive to minimize the use of any unnatural plant products wherever possible. We are also very interested in studying and practicing companion planting and other methods to help the plants get the highest nutrion value out of the land as possible.
Our animals are kept as free range/pastured where allowed and we let them feed off of the land as much as possible.
Description of marketing method:
The main marketing methods that we have in mind are centered on the community. We not only want to participate in farmer's markets and CSAs but we also want get our community excited about farming. We want to help educate those in our community about ways to become more self sufficient when it comes to food. This would include growing, preparing, canning, preserving among other things.

Our knowledge of raising farm animals and growing crop vegetables and fruits come from passed down family knowledge and our own research. Marcy's family used to own a dairy farm in upstate New York and we have several family members who have had various levels of farming in their past.
