Farming Status and Plans
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
My wife and I run a vegetable farming business called Nimble Roots Farm, we spent the last year farming on leased land in the Saratoga region. Before that we atteneded the UVM Farmer Training Program during the 2018 season. We both recieved certificates in Sustainable Agriculture. We are commited to growing in sustainable and regenerative ways. We are currently partnering with our landlords to purchase farmland in the Northern Hudson Valley, with the intent of being within 30-40 minutes at most of Hudson.
Description of marketing method:
We have learned how to be successful at farmers markets and directly marketing to customers. We will also sell to local restaurants. We are open to wholesale sales, but would ideally like to sell to retail customers primarily.

Description of livestock/crops:
We will grow a diversified selection of highly marketable and in demand crops. We are interested in learning more about livestock and potentially including them as a holistic farm managment practice.

Description of tenure options desired:
Ideally we would like to own the property. We will be partnering with a professional couple who have full time jobs and are interested in being part of an agriculutral project.

In 2018 we attended the Farmer Training Program in Burlington Vermont.
Both my wife and I were Interns at Pleasant Valley Farm owned by Paul and Sandy Arnold. I worked there for 10 months and she was there for four.
I also worked at Fox Creek Farm owned by Sara and Raymond Luhrman during the summer of 2010 as a farm hand.
