Desired acreage:6-10, 11-20, 21-50, 51-100, >100
Infrastructure required:Onsite housing, Barns or other facilities for storage of equipment, livestock, and crops, Water access, Fencing, Electrical Access
Description of buildings required:
We have a new travel trailer that we can live in 3 seasons but would need housing for the winter. We can make do with just about any weatherproof housing option but we are open to building our own dwelling or refurbishing an existing building to livable standards. Housing for chickens or the possibility of building said housing. Run-in sheds, barn or other shelter for goats and pigs if they are allowed, or the permission to build such shelter.
Description of water access required:
Any reliable clean water source. A well would be ideal. Partner B desires a swift-running stream for possible micro-hydropower generator, but that is negotiable. Ponds or the permission to create a pond would be a bonus.
Description of fencing required:
Adequate fencing for pasturing of goats and/or pigs if they are allowed.
Crops and Livestock
Primary crops:Vegetables, Fruits, Ornamentals
Primary Livestock:Goats/Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Other livestock
Description of livestock/crops:
Partner A desires at least one bee hive with potential to expand, and the option of one milk cow. Partner B desires one milk goat and one fiber goat, minimum, and the option to raise at least 2 pigs per year. Also the option to raise meat rabbits. We would like to have a minimum of 10 laying chickens, or access to same.
Tenure options desired:Farm Management, For Lease, Partnership, For Sale, Other Tenure Agreement
Description of tenure options desired:
One possible option involves the partners lease-optioning a small farm from the owners. The owners would ideally be older and wanting to sell but wish to remain on farm. Partners would give a down payment and make monthly payments while working & living on farm, whether in the home or in separate housing situation. Owners would remain as long as desired & carry loan.
We are also open to forming a partnership with a farmer who wishes to remain on their land and would allow us to undertake our own enterprises in addition to helping manage existing farm enterprises.
We are open to many creative tenure options including building our own dwelling onsite. Let's collaborate.
Will this farmer's operation qualify an eligible landowner for an Agricultural Assessment?Unsure
