Farming Status and Plans
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
Finding the land is the first step. The operation will start out as an organic flower farm (Much like the Tiny Hearts farm in Copake, NY) , becoming our own wholesalers and wholesalers for others. Eventually live stock and vegetables will be apart of the operation mainly for subsistance and contribution to local markets. The overall point is to join the conservation movement creating a younger generation of farmers. With Sustainable practices we will do our part to help conserve the Hudson Valley and foster a new generation of farmers in the greater Hudson Valley region. Whether you are a chef or a florist sourcing quality always leads back to the soil and land.
Description of marketing method:
Instagram, tailored website, travel to markets, and our consultation design studio in Hudson NY will all serve to reach our customers and brand our farm. Also I want to partner with a university to expand our name and knowledge of the best farming practices. Professor Scott. M Lacy teaching at Fairfield University has a class called the Anthropology of Food and works to expand their own little community garden. While the school has no history of farm partners it would be a great start expanding their environmental initiative. Also being an Alum of the school and personal friend of Scott Lacy makes connection easy.

Environmental education and sustainable development was a part of my self-designed major at Fairfield Univeristy. I started a composting program at the community garden and helped manage said garden. Also I plotted and grew herbs and vegetables in a small field near my old family home. I contributed surplus to local markets. I also worked for a place called LL Farm Market as a shop hand. I drove frequently to farms and worked at points with fruit farmers we collaborated with.
I am a quick study and will continue this endeavor inspite of my limited experience. I am young, vigorous and extremely passionate. Every expert was once a beginner.
