Farming Status and Plans

Years actively farming:

2-5

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

I am a first-generation farmer with experiences in small-scale dairy, hay production, rotationally-grazed livestock, and direct-marketing. I currently live in Hudson and work for the National Young Farmers Coalition.

I've had one bad experience trying to start a farm from scratch (i.e. bare land, no infrastructure) and once is enough for me. Long-term, I'm seeking a dairy farmer in the Hudson Valley who wants to transition their farm business and farmland to a new owner over time. Short-term, I'm looking for 20-100 acres of grazing land--including water+electric access and winter livestock housing--for lease within 20 miles of Hudson so I can get a small rotational-grazing livestock operation started up.
