Farming Status and Plans

Years actively farming:

6-10

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

Have been working full time for 10 years on a conventional agricultural farm. Looking to transition from employment in order to pursue running my own farm. My operation will be sustainable and grass-based. I will raise a variety of livestock using this method. My focus will be on poultry and hogs intially, but I will then expand operations to other large ruminants. Ideally would like to be in the eastern part of NYS with my main focus on the Capital Area. Grass-fed does require a larger piece of property so I am looking for land to lease over 50 acres.
