Farming Status and Plans

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

I grew up farming with my family, however, I do not have access to land in New York. I currently grow vegetables and herbs at a community garden in Brooklyn. I would like to grow organic ethnic vegetables and produce from Nigeria, year round (extended seasons), which means I would need hoops. I intend to nurture the land and to protect it, while providing hard to find fresh organic vegetables and produce.

Description of marketing method:

Word-of-mouth, social media, in-store, ethnic/conventional farmers markets, cold marketing via flyers, religious institutions, traditional media, and any other available method.

Experience description:

I grew up eating organic fresh fruits and vegetables from our backyard. We were, and still remain farmers. And, even though I left home, I have continued to grow mostly herbs, vegetables and a few fruits, either in my backyard, or now, at the community garden.
