Farming Status and Plans
Years actively farming:
10+Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
I was raised farming and ranching, so have always had an appreciation for agriculture. I served several years in the Army and ministry, plus have had other business interests that have kept me mobile for many years, so no chance to settle down and farm. Now that we have settled into the Central New York Region, I feel it is time to return to my roots. I am a member of the National and New York Farmer Veteran Coalition as well as working with Cornell and ATTRA on the Armed to Farm and other educational resources.
My interests are in Sustainable Ag practices in Permaculture, Aquaponics, Hydroponics and many additional leading edge agricultural methods. I am very well experienced in marketing, as I have worked as an executive level marketing director for Fortune 1000 level companies, as well as consulted with companies large and small in their marketing needs. I plan to use several methods to market our farm, including: Homegrown by Heroes branding, CSAs, direct sales to Restaurants, Grocery Stores, Consumers, as well as Social Media.
I would be interested in various manners of farm ownership, from partnerships to leasing or purchase. I am open to offers.
