Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

I have experience in berry, vegetable and poultry farming. I plan on farming organic, heirloom vegetable and free-range poultry for sale to the community.

Description of marketing method:

We will market through networking, social media, agro-tourism and farmers markets and other events.

Onsite housing, Barns or other facilities for storage of equipment, livestock, and crops, Water access

Description of buildings required:

Barns and Outbuildings are not required but would be great. Otherwise, we will secure funding to build one.

Description of water access required:

We require access to either well water or town water. Spigots should be located on the farm for easy access.

Description of livestock/crops:

We are planning to raise 200 broilers int he first year -and planning to raise our production in our second and third year of operation. We also would like to raise a small stock of pasture pigs and goats for meat production.

Experience description:

I grew up working my grand father's land and currently grow food in urban spaces. I have had immersion experiences at Soul Fire Farm and work with Black Joy Farm in the Bronx. I am also learning through the Cornell Small Farms Program and have taken courses on berry farming, pasture pigs, mushroom cultivation and farm financial planning.
