Farming Status and Plans
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
Im the owner and manager of a sustainable flower company called Allora Farm and Flowers. I farm cut flowers, edible flowers, herbs and speciality vegetables for award-winning restaurants in the city, wholesale accounts and florists. I also grow out research trials for Cornell and UVM. Amidst COVID, we've pivoted our business to also sell curated boxes of foraged ingredients directly to home cooks. These Wild Boxes have been a success and were recently featured in the New Yorker. My partner and I plan to continue to build this brand while also maintaing our floral design/wedding accounts.
I have extensive regenerative farming experience through a number of celebrated farms, including Alewife Farm, Siena Farm, and the Stone Barns Center. We are seeking to partner with a landowner to manage their existing land, to build our business, and to regeneratively restore acreage.
Description of marketing method:
We sell direct to consumer delivery boxes of foraged items, through which customers can add on bouquets and other value-add products that we make.
