Farming Status and Plans

Description of marketing method:

I plan on using existing relationships in the agricultural industry and markets, to sell  high quality produce to both commercial and residential customers. High end dining establishments are in constant need of top quality produce that stands out from the competition and can be counted on in regards to consistency. We plan on providing those in the food service industry with a consistent high quality product. For residential customers a subscription model has been drawn up that would allow for weekly deliveries to customers homes providing them with a weekly supply of fresh, locally grown high quality dependable produce for themselves and there families. Utilizing the livestock on the property we will develop products using the raw materials gained from said livestock, and market those products accordingly in a fashion that seperates us from others, while maintaining our integrity and brand recognition in regards to high quality, consistency, and customer service.

Crops and Livestock

Primary crops:

Vegetables, Ornamentals, Other Crops

Primary Livestock:

Goats/Sheep

Description of livestock/crops:

I am looking to cultivate high quality vegetable crops and heirloom varietals on a commercial scale year round in greenhouse structures, as well seasonally under the sun, directly in the soil. I have experience in terrace farming, so I am open to this as a possible cultivation method alongside the benefits regarding the land and soil from cultivating this way, but this is dependant upon the land itself if viable for utilizing this method. I would as well like to have some livestock such as goats and sheep to diversify the sources in which the farm can receive income and would use the livestock by-products for end products that the farm could sell alongside our high quality produce. Flower starts for a larger grower could be another possible revenue stream regarding winter production if cultivation space allowed for this to occur.

Farmland Tenure

Tenure options desired:

For Sale, Other Tenure Agreement

Description of tenure options desired:

I am currently looking for land that is for sale, as I am a first time buyer of land and would like to own something outright. Although, with that being said, I am open to all offers and tenure options.

Experience description:

I have been an Orange County New York resident for the last 26 years and have cultivated various organic crops such as heirloom vegetables and flowers on both the west and the east coast over the last 14 years. I started cultivating at the age of 12 on the west coast in California and returned to New York to continue on with my learning of various cultivation techniques and experience in growing vegetables & flowers. I currently own and operate a horticultural cultivation consulting agency that is based out of Orange County, NY. I have grown organic produce on a commercial scale in the past, I as well have experience in commercial greenhouse construction & cultivation for year round growing. I advise on a variety of cultivation methods and have worked with the UCONN - EXTENSION in Connecticut to further there industrial pilot programs for farmers. I understand the plight of the farmer and do my best to position those in need, so that they may reap the benefits of the hard work that they put in everyday.
