Farming Status and Plans
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
I was raised on a farm my whole life. I had helped my family whenever they needed and when I was called for. For the most part I was with the animals that were on the farm. I undestand how the whole farm business works very well. My lack of ability to properly grow produce and herbs is where I need help with. We could work together to find volunteers (which is preffered) but if employees is needed then so be it.
Description of marketing method:
I am very good at making money legally! Unlikely some I know. Trust me on this one.
Does this farmer have a business plan?Yes
- Capital Area
- Hudson Valley
Infrastructure required:Water access, Fencing, Electrical Access
Description of water access required:
I would need to have access to clean water to support my livestock and produce. If there is housing on the farm I can stay occasionally. However, I plan on spending whole day at the farm and going home for my sleep.
Description of fencing required:
I do not beleive livestocks should be seperated and be placed in their "dent". The unity amongst vcarious types of animals is what makes and ecosytem and happy farm. The problem with just letting roam freely is that we need a barrier so that they do not end up on the street.
Crops and Livestock
Primary crops:Vegetables, Fruits, Hay
Primary Livestock:Cattle - Beef, Equine, Goats/Sheep, Pigs, Poultry
Description of livestock/crops:
I am not looking to turning my animals into meat. I am very comfortable giving away the dairy that is collected from my cows and goats. I know goat milk can be pricey in stores: infact I do not often see goat milk in the local market. I believe exporting goat milk for the same price as cow milk will make me/us a profit in the long run.
Tenure options desired:For Lease, Partnership
Description of tenure options desired:
I would like to have a farm running. Do I want to pay for a lease monthly? No! But if that is what it takes: then so be it.
Will this farmer's operation qualify an eligible landowner for an Agricultural Assessment?Yes
Experience & education:Farm internship/apprenticeship
Up until the age of 10 I spent so much time on my families farm back in South East Asia. Now that I am an official adult (21) and a step closer to my bachelors. I am looking to get things up and running.
