Farming Status and Plans

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

I have been producing artisan farmstead cheeses using homegrown goat milk for nearly 20 years. My daughter would like to be the second generation to own the farm and business so we are looking to grow and expand our product line on a larger property. For the past several years our sales have been a blend of regional wholesale and farmers markets and festivals and as well as on farm workshops and events. In 2020 we have pivoted to more online sales, CSA and on farm sales. We plan to expand to include frozen desserts and raw milk sales.  Our herd of dairy goats are managed holistically using organic methods. We are planning on attaining Certified Humane status for the herd. We plan to expand our milking line and add a small herd of goats for small farm and residential land clearing.

Description of marketing method:

Since 2004 we have marketed at farmers markets, wineries, festivals, and wholesale distribution. Over the past couple of years we added our own cheese CSA and online sales which both proved very valuable in 2020
