I grew up with a strong family tradition of gardening, and I continued to foster this interest when I moved out on my own. I pursued a different career path, but my interest in agriculture has been growing for many years. I volunteered during the 2014 season at a certified organic farm, mostly in the vegetable production areas, as a way to gain more experience. I had previously been taking related workshops and attending farming conferences, and continued to do so after this season. I was hired the following year as the site manager for The Greenhouse Project, where I have been managing a greenhouse, hoop houses and other garden areas. This has allowed me to continue to learn about plant propagation and to develop my varied experience in agriculture. I've also managed cut flower sales at the farmers market and several plant sales.
