Farming Status and Plans
Years actively farming:
10+Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
My wife and I grow produce (melon, watermelon, cilantro, chiles, sweet potatoes, tomatoes) to sell at stores in Poughkeepsie, and I want to expand this side business to be a sustainable farm. I want to get land in Ulster County, for the family, since we have been here for all of their lives. I would like some land that does not have to be perfect, but preferably in a flat area with access to water source. I am looking for 5 to 10 acres. I would like to be able to raise chickens as well as farm produce.
