Farming Status and Plans

Years actively farming:

Description of farming status, plans, and practices:

Hello, My name is Chase Devine and I am looking to acquire land to begin farming. My past experience is in hospitality/chef but I have alwlays worked closely with farmers when sourcing products to learn from them what I could. A majority of production will be produce, with some small livestock in small quantities with the goal of producing a self-sustainable and regenerative soil conditions. I believe strongly and fully in regenerative and no-till farming, with treating the land and creating healthy soil always comes first. I would want perennial grasses throughout as well as flfowers for sale and for an increase in birds, flowers, insects, etc.... Any biproduct from livestock (initiial thoughts are chickens for eggs and possibly meat, bees for honey and pollination, and a small number of goats for milk which will be used for cheese, milk and yogurt production. As a chef, I have a unique opportunity where I also know how to use all different products. With this knowledge, sale to restaurants and markets will be my main target market, selling produce and any goods I've made with the product from the land. A few retail items I would like to make owuld include jams, canned vegetables, pickles, yogurts, milk and cheese, with the hope to expand this as needed. my plan is to start small and manageable so as to gain a good system and grow every season from there. Again, this will be a very natural way of gardening, no till, with no checmicals or pesticides EVER in use. I have references if needed, and I can assure you, I am dedicated and very driven to get sustainable farming back to a "normal" farming practice and self-sustainable lifestyle. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you!
