Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
I currently run Closter Farm & Livestock Co., a 6.5 acre farm in Closter, NJ, consisting of a small market garden and broiler enterprise. We began the project in 2020, and are working towards expanding the garden from 0.25 acre to 2.5 acres over the next two years, broilers from 150 up to a few thousand a year, introducing new enterprises and facets to the business (mushrooms, apiary, ecotourism, on-farm processing, value added-goods, etc.), and continuing to expand our sales channels. We are located not 25 min. from NYC (15 min to the GW bridge), and are keeping an amazing property in production. I'd love to get in touch with people looking to gain some experience, or potentially someone to partner with to help continue growing out our space and compliment our product offerings.
