Managing a 6 acre diversified vegetable farm in West Falls, NY. Vegetables and cut flowers are marketed through a 100 member CSA and sold to local restaraunts. Produce is grown using organic practices (currently not certified). I rely on a hand tools, tarps, and tractors for cultivaiton in an effort to reduce the need for intensive tillage and improve soil and crop health.
Description of marketing method:
Produce and flowers are marketed through the CSA, where members pick up weekly shares 21 weeks out of the year. Members have all found us through word of mouth, social media, and limited flyering in local restaraunts. Additonal produce is sold to local restaraunts trhough an email list.
