Barakah Heritage Farm is a chemical-free permaculture farm specializing in heirloom and heritage. We have combined modern social media and virtual activities with market gardening, egg production, farmstays, goat production and equine classes to create a portable, diverse profitable small family farm.

Description of infrastructure:
At a minimum, we need fences and good water. Housing, animal shelters, electrical access are all bonuses, and if not available can be added as needed.

Description of livestock/crops:
We currently maintain a flock of heritage chickens (Buckeye, Australorp, Jersey Giant) as well as non-heritage muscovy ducks. In addition, we have a herd of horses, including a small breeding herd of rare heritage Arabian horses. We also have a herd of registered heritage fainting goats. We have a small market garden for on-farm sales, and are starting up a dried greens and herbs business. We also have a thriving agritourism farmstay business, hosting roughly 300 people per year for the farm experience as well as classes and tours.

Our ideal would be a rent-to-own, followed by a partnership and then a long-term lease of at least 10 years.

I had an informal minor in horse production at Penn State, and studied crops and soil science. Grandfather was an ag professor at Purdue. Grew up around gardens and have studied crops and regenerative grazing informally. 40+ years of horse experience, 12 with goats, published goat and horse author with Acres USA. My husband has studied more informally and also more globally, and has more experience with permaculture and small gardens.
