Farming Status and Plans
Years actively farming:10+
Description of farming status, plans, and practices:
Agritourism business utilization of equines that has never been done in New York State. It is successful in western United States, has the potential to be as successful if not more so in New York State. In essents this is an equine KOA [Kampgrounds of America] with stalls for horses to overnight in, with RV hook-up sites, and cabins. It needs to be at least 130 acres of land or more. There will be at least a hundred acre fenced in pasture with 20 or so [how many wild horses depends on how much land I can have for this] wild mustangs and burros. There will be guided rides, of riding your own horse into the pasture or horse drawn wagon rides into the pasture to see and observe wild horses. This business is based off-of the national elk refuge sliegh ride in Jackson WY, off-range pastures open to the public funded/supported by the BLM [bureau of land management, and I want to have their support in this endeavor, I have contacts for this], and the Elkins Creek horse camp. There are many ways of building onto this initial start-up agritourism business.

I have extensively worked with a carriage company and know how to handle a team, four or six draft horse hitch. I also know what the guest will be interested in. I have worked for year at Elkins Creek horse camp and know what the customers like for this, simple is good as well as clean and neat.
