I am a trans/queer farmer with 10 years experience as owner and manager. I am relocating from Virginia to New York, downsizing from my current 100-acre diversified farm to focus primarily on my therapeudic riding program. I am, however, keeping a large number of my wool producing heritage sheep, and will continue with my fiber and meat business on a smaller scale.

I am seeking 5-10 acres close to Bloomingburg NY to graze my flock of Jacobs sheep and my three homestead cows.

We are bringing approx 40 sheep from our established registered Jacob Sheep flock to continue to produce wool, meat, and registered breeding stock. We are downsizing from 80+ sheep and will have fiber products from the past couple shearings available until sold out.

Our two family milking cows and our bull are also moving with us.

Marketing Method

I will be reaching out to our local fiber shed, attending fiber festivals as a vendor, hosting events on our new property, and building a comprehensive website for online sale of yarn and fiber goods. 

Our meat sales are comparatively small every year - I will be looking into local butchers and primarily selling by word of mouth.

Seeking primarily pasture to rent to graze for the summer season. Depending on the cost and distance from my home, I may move animals to my 25 acre wooded property in the winter. The ideal property has fencing, water access, and at least a couple run-in sheds. A barn is a bonus but not necessary. I am able to install electric semi-permanent fencing if necessary.
