Farming status, plans, and practices

I am currently looking for a farm in Oneida or Herkimer County. I would like to stay in the area (Holland Patent/Stueben NY) since I do help out my friend who has been sick for the past 3 years. I am willing to relocate if it is the right place. I am looking for a farm to purchase or rent to own. A little backstory, I am a NY Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have been working in the field for over 9 years. For the past two years, I have been helping my friend on their small-scale farm every day full-time and realized this is where my heart is at. I have a passion for what I have learned and will put in my all for my dreams to come true. I am looking to raise beef cattle specifically Highlands. I also want to raise pasture pork (Mangalica) and poultry. I also milk goats and have a breeding program I have been assisting with for the past few years. I also would like to be able to cut hay and plant some crops. Looking for 40 + acres, barn, house, and tillable land. Would like to see soil testing results and am willing to hear out all offers. Thank you for reading!

Farm Experience & Education

  • Farm internship/apprenticeship
  • Farmer training or workshop
  • Formal agricultural education

  • On farm work experience

Worked on the farm on and off the past 7 years and full-time the past 3. I have experience with cattle, pigs, poultry, and goats. Also am taking agriculture classes through Cornell.
