Farming status, plans, and practices

We manage our crops organically, not using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or any other chemicals. Our goals are; improving soil health, protecting the environment, and providing a high quality, nutrient dense crop for both livestock and human consumption. We are ideally seeking land in Orange or Sullivan Counties.

Farm Experience & Education

  • Formal agricultural education
  • Farm manager
  • On farm work experience

My brother and I grew up farming with our family. Our father began in 1976 at the age of 16, and became certified organic in 1991. We have decades of organic experience, but are always willing to learn and try new things. We have been in the commercial vegetable business, raised sheep, hogs, poultry, beef and dairy cows. More recently we have shifted to more of hay and organic row crops, due to lack of available labor. Our passion is farming, our lives are farming, our dream is farming.

We produce organic hay, to supply the many organic livestock producers in the northeast. Our grain crops get sold to feed mills to produce organic feed. We also have recently emerged into the food grade organic grain market.

Marketing Method

Most sales are directly to end users. We have established connections and sales avenues for all of our crops, and are looking to expand.
