About the Organization
The Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) is a non-profit land trust based in Columbia County, NY with the mission to bring people together to conserve, appreciate, and enjoy land. CLC works with the community to cultivate connections to the land by hosting educational programs, supporting agriculture by ensuring prime farmland continues to be available to future farmers, and promoting land protection and smart land use planning.
Regional Navigator Services
CLC helps farmers and landowners in Columbia and Dutchess counties participate in the FNG-NY program, develop agricultural leases, partnerships, or land purchase options, and transition farms to the next generation. Other types of assistance include website profile development, property mapping, soil health support, connections to volunteer farmers for individual consultation, and support in navigating funding opportunities. CLC has specific expertise in land conservation including the donation and purchase of development rights, ground leasing, and other related services and programs.
