Columbia Land Conservancy

The Columbia Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit land trust based in Columbia County New York working with our community to conserve the farmland, forests, wildlife habitat, and rural character of Columbia County. CLC's agricultural programs help farmers and non-operating farmland owners utilize a wide variety of land access and conservation tools available to them, including a variety of different leasing structures, partnerships, farm management, purchasing land using farmland protection tools such as donation or purchase of development rights, and other related services and programs designed to help farmers build equity and secure their businesses. CLC also partners with Dutchess Land Conservancy on our farmland matching program.

The Columbia Land Conservancy helps farmers and landowners in Columbia and Dutchess counties participate in the FNG-NY program and provides the necessary resources to develop fair, secure, and long-term leases. Types of assistance include website profile development, property mapping, and connections to volunteer farmers for individual consultations. CLC has specific expertise in land conservation tools including the donation and purchase of development rights, ground leasing, and other related services and programs designed to help farmers build equity and secure their businesses.
