About the Organization

Core to the mission, goals and strategic priorities of the Cornell Small Farms Program (CSFP) is advancing equity in NY agriculture.  Through our Futuro en Ag project, we provide bilingual education (Spanish and English) and personalized technical assistance to support farmers in business planning, land access, and financing. Our multilingual team successfully engages Spanish-first farmer audiences and actively seeks their input in the development of all activities. CSFP has set a bold goal of helping establish 250 new farms by 2030, with at least 50 led by historically excluded farmers. By reducing systemic barriers, we aim to create real opportunities for these producers to grow and strengthen their farming operations in sustainable and resilient ways.

Regional Navigator Services

While our primary goal is to facilitate five successful farmland matches, we recognize that securing land is a multi-step process. Therefore, we are equally committed to supporting a larger number of farmers in their preparation for land tenure. By equipping them with financial knowledge, business planning skills, and networking opportunities, Futuro en Ag ensures that even those who do not secure land during this grant period are actively progressing toward ownership. Our work is centered on building a pipeline of future farm owners, strengthening Latino farming communities, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of small-scale agriculture in New York.
