About the Organization
Our mission at the Genesee Valley Conservancy is to work to protect the working lands (farms and forests), open space, and habitat of the Genesee River Valley. We work in a 1.5 million acre service territory in the bread basket of New York State to ensure the land base that provides critical public goods and ecosystem services remains durable and intact. Our strategic priorities have evolved from land protection to incorporating a suite of agricultural land conservation activities that align with our mission of ensuring a productive landscape remains available for producers. The combination of land preservation and technical service delivery through a trusted network of private landowners is an important component of our agricultural conservation program.
