About the Organization
Rock Steady Farm is a queer and trans led multiracial worker cooperative and nonprofit centering QTBIPOC farmers in our work to build a liberatory future. We grow culturally meaningful food, train queer, trans, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (QTBIPOC) farmers, and catalyze structural and political change in the food system. Critical to our overall goals and advocacy priorities is to increase access to land for QTBIPOC farmers in our region and beyond.
We work within, against, and beyond a broken food system – one that was built and runs on structural racism and climate harm; and that leaves many hungry despite waste. By addressing the web of systemic barriers QTBIPOC farmers face such as land access, we’re building a future in which QTBIPOC farmers can succeed and thrive while sustainably stewarding the land and feeding their communities.
