Crespell is a small non-certified flower growing operation and homestead.  The property is 155 acres and we currently have just a few of them in production.  

The farm is going into its second year and there is lots of room to experiment, trial and grow with us.  


Propagation is currently done indoors but plans for 1-2 new hoop houses are underway and we welcome your experience assisting with this.  We have a small walk-behind tractor that helps with tilling, shredding (for compost) and clearing land. 

Job Description

Position is 2-3 days / week.   

Ideal candidate has an outstanding work ethic, strong physical strength and interest in learning ever more about the natural world and the flowers we grow.  Bonus if you are skilled in plant propagation, hoop house and field growing.  Required that you are hard working, dedicated and passionate about local organic farming.   We look for both a willingness to contribute and ability to take direction.  Must have a passion for producing beautiful flowers. 

Primary responsibilities include: 

Planting, weeding, irrigation, and organic pest and disease control to ensure the highest quality flowers. 

Assist with basic maintenance and organization of facilities and help maintain a clean workplace

This is a and fast paced work environment.

A sense of humor and joy for farming!

Self-motivated and able to work outside in ALL weather conditions including snow, rain, high temps. Strong manual dexterity skills in all weather. 
Ability to work independently as well as with a team. 
Detail oriented and organized work style. 
Demonstrated commitment to sustainable and just farming practices. 
Comfortably able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. 
Clean drivers license and reliable transportation for commuting to farm. 

We have a flock of guinea hens and chickens, dogs, cats and parrots at the farm.  Must be comfortable around them. 
Schedule, Compensation, Housing: 
This is part-time in-season position. We are looking for someone who can start this season with a committment for 2021.

Work week would be 14-25 hours. 
Start date: Flexible but latest June 1st, 2020 and runs through October 31st. 
Hourly pay ist $15/hr
