Featherbed Lane Farm

Featherbed Lane Farm (, is a draft horse powered, full year CSA located near Saratoga Springs, NY.

Job Description

The SFT Farmer’s primary focus is vegetable production, including greenhouse management, field production and harvests, as well as occasional livestock work and assistance with the weekly CSA Pickup. Prior farm experience, while valued, is less important than a good work ethic and attitude, the ability to do very physical work outside during all weather conditions, and a readiness to learn, be effective, have fun and be a part of the team. This is a great opportunity for someone exploring farming as a profession or moving towards a farm management role.

The position begins in early May and runs through the end of November, though there may be the possibility of starting sooner and/or extending the season. Exact start and end dates will be set at the time of hire. On-farm housing is not currently available, though we’re happy to help with finding accommodations or consider creative arrangements.

The SFT Farmer is paid $15/hour for a 40-hour work week. Employee benefits include a weekly CSA Share of produce as well as eggs, paid sick leave, and an education stipend. Additional benefits and position details will be provided to interested applicants.
